Enjoy this audiotour of Old Aberdeen.
There is no text to read. We tell you about the various points of interest (PoI) while you walk around. The related talk will start automatically when you are close to a location. You can interrupt the talk at any moment by clicking the Pause button. You can walk through the PoI pages manually. In that case you may want to remove your current location from the map. You can do that by toggling the GPS switch at the top.
Make sure the battery of your iPhone is sufficiently charged because the GPS module consumes a fair bit of power. The app works on iPad as well but may be less accurate without GPS.
In the order of the pages it is assumed that you walk from the South to the North. However, you can start at any point and you can walk in any direction. The straight line distance to the point of interest is shown at the top right, provided you show your current location on the map.
If you wish, you can listen to a couple of Scottish songs by toggling the Music button.
Points of Interest covered: Powis Gate, Kings College, Bishops tomb, Kings Chapel, Quadrangle, Elphinstone Hall, New Kings, Rice Library, Wrights and Coopers Place, MacRobert Memorial, Old Townhouse, Cruickshank Garden, Mitchells Hospital, St Machars Cathedral, Seaton Park, Brig o Balgownie, Cot Town, Chaplains Court.
Please review the app in the App Store so we can improve the next version.
